Undergraduate college
students enrolled in other institutions may attend a 15-week fall
term at Rockport College and receive a full semester's credit. A
Semester-in-Residence is an opportunity to become totally immersed
in the development of one's craft and personal vision, making use
of the college's production facilities and faculty. Semester-in-Residence
programs are available in Film & Video and Photography. Each semester contains up to 18 credit hours of work that
may be transferable to the home institution. Interested students
should consult their Regsitrar's office to determine the possibility
of credit transfers.
Rockport College offers
professional career programs in Photography and Filmmaking. These one-year foundation programs encompass
two 15-week terms: Fall and Spring, and result in a Professional
Certificate. These programs are practical alternatives to a Masters
Program, or may be used to prepare a candidate for an MFA program,
at Rockport College or elsewhere.
Rockport College offers
a self-designed, low residency Master of Fine
Arts Degree Program, with majors in Photography and Film &
Video. Film & Video majors select a concentration
in writing/directing, cinematography or editing. This program is
for career professionals who want to master their craft, complete
their academic studies, and work within a structured community of
peers while pursuing a major body of personal work. The Masters
Program provides a stimulating, supportive and structured environment
in which to work and grow artistically and professionally.
Applicants may elect to work on campus in a residency, off-campus, or utilize a combination of residencies and self-directed, mentor-supervised work at home.
